I can't decide if I want to run inside or out

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Today is another day that I didn't get up to run. I was awake at 5:45, but I laid in bed listening to my 18 month old babble in his crib. I was afraid to get up and walk past his room and make him cry. Or, maybe I didn't want to leave his dad to take care of him by himself. Stupid mommy guilt. emoticon

So, I have to run this afternoon. I can either run inside on the treadmill or run on the track outside, where it's expected to be in the upper 90s again. I keep reading about other sparkers who run in the heat with no problem, and I guess I could probably handle it. I'm just scared of the dreaded headache like I got the other night. It's not so bad to run on the long as I'm running, right? I just feel like I should be outside. Like, that's the mark of a real runner. So, what should I do?

When my kids were young, I was always trying to sneak by, not wanting to wake/disturb a sleeping or contented baby. I needed all the me time I could get.

In this heat, I vote to run on the treadmill. You're going for exercise, and you'll get that inside in the air conditioning.

(I think those others running outside in this are nuts, and they're just trying to prove themselves, like a macho thing in running.) emoticon

    You're making great progress!
