OMG HAVE YOU SEEN "FAT, SICK, AND NEARLY DEAD"?

Monday, July 11, 2011

If you haven't seen it or heard of it, look it up.
I don't want to ruin it for you, but I have made huge changes in my food intake in just 24 hours. What a movie! OMG!
I will blog on this again, but I want you to watch it for yourself. I found it on Netflix, and bits of it on youtube.

I have lost 52 lbs in the past 10 months, just reducing my caloric intake. I don't suffer from any illnesses, but after watching this film, I decided I am going to give it a shot. I got myself a Breville Juicer, and I am going to start tomorrow my juice fast. Honestly, I don't like the texture of most fruits and vegetables, so this will be a great way to boost my micro-nutrient intake, without making myself gag. I will update my progress and let you know how it goes.

I watched the film on Netflix last night and am inspired. I really want to do it to kick start my weightloss but also to incorporate it into my lifestyle. Part of me feels like the documentary was actually more of a info-mercial for the ReBoot program he has on his website, but regardless he made a lifestyle change and has helped others. I wonder how Phil from IA is doing now...

Btw, did you notice in the end how even when he was done with the juice diet, he still eats a diet of mostly micro-nutrient foods? Plus it said every 3 months he does another 10 days worth of juice diet. Which tells me that if you go all the way with this, it's pretty much going to be a lifetime dietary change if you want the results to be permanent. Not sure I'm ready to change my diet THAT much for the rest of my life!

I'd love to know what your thoughts are on it, and whether you are going to try it! And if you do try it, or even a modified version of it, what the results are! I haven't totally given up on the idea of buying a juicer and just going for it. It's in the back of my thoughts constantly...

I just watched it on Netflix. It was very interesting. I almost went out and bought a juicer but man, they are expensive. Plus I got to thinking how you don't get any of the skin and pulp if you juice things, so you're missing out on lots of fiber and nutrients. So I've started making vegetable/fruit smoothies in the blender. They are kind of chunky but I manage to get them blended enough to drink with a straw. Figure I'm getting lots of nutrients in an easy way. I don't think I have what it takes to do nothing but those for all my meals though. Considering doing one meal a day and see how that works...
