Lions, Tigers Pitbulls oh my!

Saturday, July 09, 2011

Good Saturday Sparkfam! Its a hot day here in Chicago but I have gotten lazy & don't wanna do anything. I got up early, took Shadow on a walk. It was moist at 7am but I was determined to walk him before it got any warmer. So I went on our normal tour. He was panting but we journeyed on. Stopped & chatted with a neighbor about the problems going on in the community & told me to "be careful." So Shadow & I went down a block we normally do go down after 7am. So I saw 2 pitbulls chained on a fence & went to the other side of the street. I should've turned around but I thought they were tied up. Well the white & grey pitbull broke free & crossed a major street to get to me & Shadow.

Well at first when I am faced with a dog I don't know, I try to keep myself between the dogs. I was so trying not to let him get his chops on Shadow's neck but that wasn't his intentions. He just wanted to smell Shadow. Well the owner was trying to call the dog but he was busy with me & Shadow. He finally came across while I ran interference. He pulled the dog's collar & began to hit the dog. I was like oh don't hit the doggie & don't make him go across that busy street he might get injured. I was out of my rabbit mind cause this dog could tore me to pieces trying to get to Shadow. I just couldn't let anything happen to him. He is a boxer & he doesn't know about fighting. He would've done his best to protect himself but I don't know if he could've done much more than that. Especially when some people train these dogs to mame & kill. I think he was a dog for protection more so than fighting. Thank God for that! That could've been my last walk for a while. God was protecting us. I believe that with my whole heart! Somebody prayed for me, maybe not by name but the collectively included a prayer of protection. Shadow was shaken but he has no clue or maybe he does how he was saved today.

Today I had grits, scrambled eggs, hash brown, honey wheat toast, sausage & orange juice. Still full right now. Will have yogurt & nectarine for a snack. PB&J for dinner, I think. Walking, weights & yoga are my workout for today.

What fear have you conquered lately? LOL

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Praise the Lord! Those chains weren't strong enough for that dog. But Praise the Lord. I believe angels were holding that dog back. years ago when I was in college I use to walk to the bus stop. There were dogs always barking. But one day it was a whole gang right in front of me as I walked. They didn't touch me. Later the Lord showed me that the angels were between me and those pack of dogs as protection. I was still a babe in Christ but I thank God for that! I always think about the angels are here for protection as well as other things they do. Praise the Lord for You! Thanks for sharing! I'm always praying for my friends for sure!
    Many Blessings to You!

Pit Bulls aren't bad. Some of their owners are. Same goes for ALL other breeds of dogs too..

I am happy to hear that you and your dog were not injured Dee, You can't be too careful anymore, there are so many irresponsible pet owners that don't take the time to tie up or take care of their dogs. We have been attacked several times (including in my own yard) so I have taken the law into my own hands and started carrying pepper spray with me, My boyfriend got me the one that U use for bears so that will take down any big dogs that want a piece out of my dog. I have used it twice already and these dogs now run if they see us! I am sorry that the neighbor hit his dog, it was his fault for not being responsible! Glad that u and your dog are safe. You got me hungry for breakfast after I read what you had! Great job today Dee! and PS..... I took Casey out early today as well, too humid to do it later. God bless Ann emoticon emoticon emoticon
