My Week with Pictures

I figured I'd get my Weekly Update done early since it's game night and time tends to slip away. This week has been a long one. It started out a little rough but has ended on a high note. Independence Day was full of fun and fireworks with our neighbors, all of whom have become wonderful friends. We cooked out together and then loaded up to go to the park for fireworks. I got some great pictures, especially for taking them on my cell phone.
Tuesday was the big day for the Casey Anthony trial. I'll leave it at that since pretty much everyone in the world knows the story there. I also don't want to start a big debate. It is what it is and there's nothing anyone can do about it now. I'm glad it's over since I feel like I wasted 6 weeks of my life watching the trial.
I was bummed out about the verdict, so the kids and I went to the pool, stopping to check the mail on the way. After months of waiting, our income tax return finally came. It was nice to be able to pay off a major debt to my parents and still have money left over. We had already picked out a few well-deserved splurges, but most of what we wanted to do with the money was to finally start making our apartment feel more like a home. We got the kids their Wii, Tony got a new gun, and I got my new camera. For the apartment, we have purchased a blu-ray and surround sound combo, patio set (which I got for 50% off), a large painting ($10) for over the couch, curtains for the living room, and paint for the dining room.
The leg on my kitchen table cracked when I was moving it back into the dining room, so Tony had to get some 2-part epoxy to fix it. We plan to get a new dining room set, but not quite yet. That is going to be our next big purchase once Tony's tv is paid off. The epoxy seemed to work but Tony wanted to let it sit today and will put it back together when he gets home from work. There are only a couple of things left that we really want to purchase. One is my new pantry cabinet - it's larger than the one in the dining room right now. The one we have will get moved to our bedroom. We are getting Daisha a loft bed for her room and new bedding for our room. We were going to get a queen-size bed for our room but decided to wait so we can still keep some money in savings, especially since we have a trip to Atlanta next month.
All in all, the workouts I've gotten just from getting everything put together have been amazing. I never realized that painting was such a workout. LOL Next week will be back to normal for the most part, though I'm hoping to start rearranging and reorganizing our master bedroom. It's something I've been planning to do since the beginning of the week but all of the craziness and running around put it on the backburner.
