Respect the Work

Friday, July 08, 2011

That's my new mantra. I usually push myself a bit every time I work out or do any physical activity. Today I realized that my habit of rewarding myself with a big bowl of whatever has the most sugar, fat and calories is not only self-defeating, it's downright disrespectful!

I'm vowing to respect the work-- and do those things that support the effort I put in not only exercising, but every other challenge I attempt. I've still got 15,000 more words to a completed first draft, 54 more pounds to go, a Zen garden to finish. I'm vowing to be a better friend to myself and respect the work!

I saw in someone else's blog this line: Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. The work that goes into losing weight isn't worth the temporary pleasure. Keep it up!
