Summer 5% Challenge Assignment # 3 Motivation

My motivation for wanting to lose weight has more to do with my health as I get older than anything else. My reasons for wanting to lose weight are as follows; * I want to be independent for the rest of my life. * Maintaining my mobility as I get older * Avoiding having to get hip or knee replacements as I age * Avoid getting osteoarthritis later in life * A healthy weight means less money spent on Doctor's appointments and medicine as I age. * I want to feel comfortable and look okay in my clothes. * I do not want to be depressed because of weight related issues. * Be the best I can be for my age * I want to get over the idea that because I am getting older it is okay to just give in to it and let my weight get out of control. *I want to make a lifestyle change .* I want to feel good about doing all that I can do to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

    Great reasons for changing your lifestyle and it does work! My success came when I started focusing on health rather than pounds. Another thing you can add to that list is a LOT less time spent going to the doctor and sitting in the doctor's office. Let alone recovering from all the procedures you mentioned. The older I get the more precious that time is to me and I want to enjoy it in good health too! Mobility is a big issue; need motivation? Visit a nursing home, been visiting friends there the past few years and as necessary as they have become; it's not how I want to spend the time I have left. So, let's keep moving and making healthy choices! Be well.
