July 1-4 Report

I went for an hour long walk on Friday with the dogs. It was a good one. All day I was thinking about two good things, for each bad. I thought about it all weekend. I think that I did a good job in general with it. I ate lots of fruits (mmmm....watermelon and pineapple). I ate whole grains (my mom made this awesome tabouli salad.) I ate junk too. Chocolate and Ice Cream and the likes all had a part of my long weekend.

I didn't get three days of cardio in. However, I did spend Saturday from about 8:30 to about 4:00, with minimal breaks, Jackhammering and hauling concrete. It was hard labor. It was intense strength and cardio. The jackhammer itself was 60lbs, not to mention the added weight of the bit. Just moving it to another spot on the concrete slab took a lot of effort. It was a spectacular upper body and core workout. I was so sore the next two days. My sister who helped haul some of the concrete said her legs were hurting, mine felt just fine. I guess that's due to all the leg strength I have from running and too many squats and lunges to count.

This weekend I haul the concrete out to the street so the city will take it away. That's gonna be another hard day or two. Thank goodness for the wheel burrow I just bought for this task.

I was not pleased with my ratio of good to bad. I feel that I failed on that front. However I am most pleased with my cardio and strength efforts for the weekend.
