Workout DVD's

I am trying something new this week. I went to the library and checked out a couple of workout dvd's. The first one was Richard Simmons. The only problem I had with it is their are no intro's to each move. He just jumps into the them and you do them for like 10 seconds before he just starts a new move. It would be fun if he showed the dance and then had you do if for a time period before moving on. I turned it off after the first song.

I then threw on a taebo dvd. This one I liked better and actually made it to 20 mins before the burn in my knees and bootie screamed "NO MORE". I typed the 20 mins of taebo into the sparkpeople fitness minutes and came out with 340 calories. Wow! This DVD is not the greatest but he does intro each move before moving you into a fast pace workout. If you could hang for 15-20 mins, it's a better workout than walking for 30 mins. (which I will be doing later on). I will be trying out a few more dvd's as I have checked out a few and have stuff like all the Zumba dvd's on hold at the library. Trying to find that "one" that I enjoy doing. If you are like me and you don't like working out in groups and you find that solitary workouts (such as jogging) is more your thing, maybe trying out a dvd in the privacy of your own home is more you thing.

    Anymore workout vids? I'm in the market, so I was just curious. I have a bunch of yoga ones, but I'm looking for some cardio in the living room these days.

    I love your attitude ! ! I dont LIKE working out in groups , but thats why I DO IT ANYWAY . I find that doing only what I LIKE was KILLING me !!! I took up a bootcamp class last spring . I thought it was going to be aerobics...IT WAS BOOT CAMP !!!! I didnt like it I got panic attacks when I would go , most people didnt talk to me unless they where " being nice to the fat girl"...But I got through it , giving myself one more triumph to show that I AM IN CHARGE not my fears , not my funny quircks...I TELL MY MIND AND BODY WHAT TO DO , NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND !
    I also like owning things . When I see a fit thin woman , I like to ask what they do ; many of them say Jillian Micheals . I bought her DVD for less than $ 10 and have LOVED IT !!! I am in the 30 day shred and find it a challenging and rewarding !

    cool. Sounds like your having fun exploring the various dvd workouts. If you have water aerobics nearby- check it out. Nice burn after and not too bad while your doing it!

    I do Zumba alot...it seems to work out as long as your consistent!
