I'm in a fitness slump

I think I got too dependent on tennis as my fitness and I've gotten away from the videos I was doing. We haven't played tennis for a few days now, and I feel like I'm struggling to get my fitness in. I don't know what the deal is.

I'd feel a whole lot better if my mind would cooperate with me. Every time I get in a position where I'm making progress, the depression starts again. I've got to figure out how to shake it...again! I'm so sick of the mood swings and blah feeling. I'll have a good week or so, then BAM! Its back.

I don't know. I'll figure it out somehow. Have a good night.

    Commit to 10 minutes...of anything. Walking around, dancing to music, walking outside, biking, video, wii-fit, anything. I usually find after 5-10 minutes I want to do more and even manage 20-30. Just get moving. If you stop after 10 minutes, then you can still be proud of getting something done.

    I know what you mean. I used to do a lot of videos, but then I started mostly walking/jogging. Now that it is so hot, I have a hard time getting myself to go out and walk, but I'm also not working out inside. I decided that I would focus on my strength training for awhile. I'm still doing some cardio, but concentrating on the ST. I made a pretty strenuous ST schedule, and my goal is to keep it up until the end of the BLC. I think it will help me to get back to some of my other healthy habits, too.
    I don't know if you are feeling this way, but I've been struggling with the fact that I already feel so much better so I'm not as motivated to keep going. When I first started out, I was feeling really bad. When I started feeling better, it was motivation to keep going, but then I got to this point where I wasn't seeing or feeling as many changes and so it became harder to motivate myself to do what I needed to do. I've really been struggling with that for a couple of months. I think I'm headed in the right direction, now, though.
    I hope you feel better very soon! I know how bad depression is. It's very hard to pull yourself out of it. You are awesome, though, Amy. You can do it!

    Tell your brain to shut the _ _ _ _ up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now!!!!! You know what you gotta do, just get up and do it! Push through this slump!!! You wouldn't like it if I was feelin' this way, and I hate that you are going through this!!! You just text me when you need a swift kick, that's what I'm here for!!! You GOT this Amy, look how far you have come! Look at all you have accomplished in just 3 months! You are soooo strong! I admire your strength!!! You have pushed me when I needed it, you have inspired and motivated me to go even when I felt like giving up!!! Now take your own advice!!!! Love you! :)

    Its hard - no doubt. I can feel myself slip back into "slug" mode every now and then. I will be doing real great - and then all of a sudden, I don't want to move off my arse !! Of course, my 13 yr old is like "hey mum, I didn't see you work out last nite, what are you doing today?" lol. Even the little one (3) will ask me "mommy, you eggsasizin today?" That seems to slap me back into reality real quick.

    I know how you feel, Amy. It is so hard to shake the shadown of depression when it comes on. Ugh ~ I have struggled with that for years. But remember, getting your exercise is one way of warding off the negative, dark moods!

    Lets make a deal, lets check in with each by the end of today and report on what fitness we got in, okay? We could shot for 30 minutes of ANY physical activity/workout!! I know a little direct accountability always gets me rolling. Let me know if you are up for the challenge!

    I'm sorry you're having a slump. If it helps, when I lose motivation, I start over. 15 minutes until I want to do 30. 30 minutes until I want to do an hour. At any rate, you're doing great so far - and we're here when you need us!
