Are you happy right now?

Tuesday, July 05, 2011

I just posted this on the message board for "staying motivated" in response to the query, "are you happy right now?" i thought i would share my answer with you all:

amazingly.. yes! i say that because i've been waiting to change for years. now that i am ready, the difference is that i love myself where i am. i know that i can do better, but i finally realize that i am who i am, regardless of my size. i won't be any better or more likeable a person when i am down 30 pounds.. so why waste my life by disliking myself now?! i listened to my peers when they made an issue of my weight as a child. i wasn't what anyone would consider a concern...but they made me feel like i was flawed. i've carried that in my heart ever since. i finally am free because I made the decision to love me. i'm taking me along for this journey, and will dance all the way instead of holding my breath until the end.

I liked this! Short and to the point. You deserve all of the beauty set before you. We're all fighting this, but fighting it together!

Well, in answer to the question, "are you happy right now?" - my answer has to be 'no' - not at all. I think I know what I have to do to fix myself, but am finding it very difficult to motivate myself. You've made some great choices - stop listening to others who criticize and complain, and start to love yourself! Keep blogging - you've got a lot of great motivation to share with the rest of us.
