Mocha's Fourth of July

Monday, July 04, 2011

Well, today was Mocha's second day with me and she is doing great. Last night the neighbor up the street was shooting off fireworks and she didn't like that. She would not go out before bed. So even tho I was off today I got up at my normal time (5:15 a.m.) and took her out first thing. She was still afraid and couldn't get her to go. She did very well in her crate last night, didn't fuss at all. Once the dew dried off the grass I took Mocha and Cara, my cat, out front while I did some weeding in the flower bed. After awhile mom came out and Mocha just had to see if her Mamaw needed any help.
Yep, just had to sneak a quick kiss in there. My mom was laughing so hard I thought she was going to fall over. Well it started to get humid so decided it was time to go inside for awhile. Mocha seemed to agree cause she just jumped up and stretched out on the couch.
We went over to my sisters for a cookout and had the dogs in the backyard to play.
Mocha wanted to play but Chewie wasn't too sure. He was not used to having a dog bigger than him around. They eventually did start playing. We had a great cookout and Mocha is settling in just fine. She is in her usual space now, I am on the comupter and she is on the rug outside the door. I won't move without her knowing. She will have to velcro to mom tomorrow since I have to go back to work.
