New addition to my family

If you have read my blogs before you know that where I work, we donate products to a local Animal Rescue. One of the benefits of this is that when the lady comes to pick up from us she usually brings puppies or kittens along. We call them our service animals because they help us destress. If you have ever worked in retail you know that some days you need alot of help destressing. One of the animals that was brought was Mocha. She is a terrier mix and was one of a litter of seven. This rescue got two, Mocha and her brother Java and they were both bottle babies. Over the weeks and months that followed Mocha and I bonded. When she was brought along for a visit she would always look for me. If she was with another associate and getting loving and petting as soon as she heard me she was off to find me. I bonded with this little rascal like I did with my Great Dane, Kalli. All the other puppies and kittens that were brought in never affected me like Mocha did. Mocha is now six months old and I knew she needed her forever home. My mom and I already have a Rat Terrier (Taco) and my cat (Cara) but I knew Mocha would fit in. So I filled out the adoption paperwork and I now have a new addition to my family, Mocha.
This is a shot when she was brought to the store one day, she was sitting nice for her treat.
This is her sitting in my front yard on her first day in her new home. She gets along great with Taco, he is a little jealous so I make sure that he still gets his attention. Cara spent the first couple of hours hissing at her but now she just ignores her.
I have off work tomorrow for the holiday so I can spend the day with her and get her more used to things here. She is a smart little thing and a quick learner. She goes in her crate with no problem and lays right down. She knows that to get her treat she has to sit first and she is very dainty when she takes her treat. She wasn't too sure about getting a bath but once I started to rub the shampoo in she decided that it was a pretty good thing. Right now she is lying on the rug right outside my computer room door to make sure that if I move she can see me. I will keep you posted on how the adjustment is going and hopefully I won't bore you to tears talking about my new girl.
