Cabin Week Plan

A week at the lake is going to be tough -- Lots of relaxing and the temptations of snacking (S'mores!), having some cool beverages, not to mention a huge neighborhood potluck picnic on the 4th of July!. I doubt I will be able to follow a strict nutrition/calorie plan. I'm going to make it my goal to just not stress too much, do the best I can to use moderation if I decide to eat things that aren't normally in my "menu", and try to get in extra exercise, since my days will be pretty much unstructured and unscheduled. I'm maintaining, but I am at the top of the range and certainly don't want to gain any more. Plus, I have that class reunion coming up in August, and I want to be feeling healthy, fit and confident!

    Hey..I think that not stressing will be the best thing you can do while vacationing. I tried that when I was in Portugal. It turns out that when I came back Thursday night I found I weighed 147.2! But over the next 2 days I've lost steadily. And of this morning I was 141.6. Still a 2 pound weight gain...and 6.6 pounds over my goal weight. But...hey...it was a good experience. I think that you should take the time to get used to the wonderfulness and surprises of unstructured days, get what exercise you can in, and then come back refreshed and re-energized, not bummed out.

    Sounds like fun and it's important to still "enjoy" life, although that doesn't mean it has to be a pig-out (like the old days) :)
    I have a few things like this coming up AND a class reunion in 2 weeks (mine) another class reunion in 3 weeks (DH's), and then our trip to Alaska (in 5 weeks)! I have all kinds of reasons to be good and yet so many other events/parties in between that can derail me. I HAVE to stay focused!! Let's make a pact to get through the summer without gaining anymore weight!
