What's Your Favorite Day of the Week?

You've heard the song, "Rainy Days and Mondays Get Me Down", but actually Monday has always been my favorite day of the week. Back before I found Sparkpeople, I would promise myself, "Monday morning, I'll start on a diet." Then I'd spend the weekend eating everything in sight getting ready to deprive myself on Monday. I always thought of Monday as a good day to start fresh and change some bad habits. However, now that I've learned so much about living a healthy lifestyle from Sparkpeople, Monday is not the only day I start fresh. Now I look forward to each and every morning as a new beginning, starting with 30 min. of yoga before breakfast, which I've come to love and continuing to plan with my husband how we'll enjoy the rest of the day. Since we're both retired, we can go for a walk in our neighborhood or if it's too hot, walk at the air-conditioned mall. We can put our "Chair-Dancing" DVD on and exercise to music together. We can look through favorite recipes and plan a healthful lunch, since we both like to cook. We can go visit a friend in a nursing home or correspond with friends and family via e-mail. In the evening, we like to watch a classic movie we've gotten out of our public library or read and listen to music. We are both very grateful for the gift of each day and have been blessed with good health. Life is Good Every Day of the Week!
