Races, Backs, and Caches.....

My status today has a story behind it and I wish I could expand on that story but I can't. I will though. I will! I can't wait to share.....but I can't right now....but I will! (dang!)
So after the bike tour I've been to the gym once and that's been about it. No workouts, struggling with healthy eating, and yet somehow still maintaining? That seems to be happening, and I'm not sure how. I think part of it is that I'm still drinking about 5 to 6 litres of water a day. Water is like the miracle drug, I swear! I have a feeling my diet is a little low on calories if I'm managing to eat much the same thing and maintain with hardly any exercise. I've decided to re-evaluate my plan and start fresh for the month of July. We're headed to the gym after work today.....I plan to do a run, bike, run and test the duathlon waters. The running part scares me. For the duathlon in August the set is 7k, 20k, 7k. 20k of biking is no problem.....14k of running!!....uh, holy crap! Plus switching between the two is a new challenge..... I may wait and do the Sept duathlon which is 5k, 30k, 5k....but to start more hard core training is the priority.
Anyways, other than re-evaluation I have been on the mend with my lower body. I've seen the podiatrist, got the orthotics and am adjusting as best I can. I have seen the chiropractor who says my back hasn't been seriously injured but she's given me spinal decompression treatments for the pain. I haven't run on the orthotics yet and haven't run while my back has been on the mend. I'm a little nervous but am going to give it a try tonight. I feel good about getting my body healthy.....even though it's a bit of a struggle adjusting.
I went to Winnipeg at Easter time and had the usual nice time. I have no plans to go back soon but am keeping an eye on the airline prices..... Going home is such a big motivator for me to exercise, I think I have to book a flight just to get back in the game here. lol
It's been raining here almost constantly the last few weeks (that plus having a choir concert over 2 nights last week has kept me from enjoying the outdoors). I'm looking forward to when the weather clears up and J and I and Gimli can go for long walks in the park again and do a bit of geocaching. Well....a lot! We're at 300 found caches right now and our goal is 500 by the end of the summer. lol
I guess it's about time to write a goals blog.....again. The months just seem to go faster and faster.....That'll be my weekend task. Gotta make some time for it (so busy lately....) but will be sure to do so! Yay for summer!
