Salt in disguise

It was so comforting to read all the comments on my last blog about my swollen feet. I have to blog again because I found the CULPRIT
and he was in the ham wrap that I ate at the handicapped social on Saturday afternoon! Since it had such a bad effect on me, I'm going to call the caterer, whom we hire frequently, and talk to him about it. It needs to be said because a lot of the members sit in wheelchairs and their legs are down all the time. I'm not going to lie down and roll over on this one, That was the girl from the past. Now I'm an assertive, health-conscious woman, the President of our "HANDS Club" and I need to speak up for myself and the others.
I was also conscious of another problem with my bloating and fluid retention: What a strain that it put on my heart and kidneys. Today I'm somewhat better and will try to use all the good suggestions of my Spark friends. Thanks to all of you for your ideas. Just wanted to mention the culprit so all of you will take extra care during these summer eating holidays!! BTW, the ironic thing is that I don't even salt my own food anymore! I've already put away the salt shaker, as some have suggested, so I was kind of blind-sided by this episode and had to really go back and think about this.
All of this is why I love blogging so much. It really helps me organize my thoughts and ideas and learn about the process of becoming a healthier person. One day at a time, one meal at a time, one pound at a time.
