All About The Clothes

A couple of exciting things this weekend in regards to clothing.
The first was Saturday. I was looking in the closet for a shirt to wear, and I came to the dividing point between my clothes and my husband's. There was a nice denim shirt, size Medium (he's a Small, but he is often gifted Mediums), and I thought I'd just try it on to see how it fit - not only did it fit through the arms, but I was able to button it - a Men's Medium! It makes me reevaluate my small collection of 2XLs - maybe I should think about buying a Large next time. Needless to say, I permanently borrowed the shirt :)
The second was today, Sunday. I had gone to Target for a few standard items, but I thought I'd look at a few clothes, after failing to find any shirts that appealed to me, I found myself at the wall of jeans, which proclaimed they had a new sizing system - there were six numbers based on rise and fullness through hip and thigh - I picked a single pair of mid-rise straight hip and thigh, in the largest size they had, a 16L (I'm 5'10" and get hilariously excited when I find a tall size), and thought I'd just try it on and see how far I needed to go (having just recently fit into regular 18s). I didn't have much hope that they would fit because they were from "the normal" section, and Target's clothes have always seemed to be on the smaller side. Not only did they fit, but they fit well, and I was able to button and zip without effort.
It is awesome, I'm starting to understand my body shape, and chose clothing that works with it, and not against - I have hidden my body for so long in baggy and over-sized clothes, that I think I have made myself look even heavier than I was/am.
