yesterday I walked 5.5 miles with a local walking group - a special one-off event in my village. Today at 6.00 am I did day 1 run 1 of a c25k program. jogging (well, my own zombie-shuffle version) 1 minute and walking 1.5 minutes. A total of 8 minutes jogging. This is probably the most I've run since leaving school 30 years ago.

WOW!!!!! Still can't believe I did it.

And so much enjoyable than at school. Even when I was younger and fitter and was on a sports team I was never good at running - always one of the slowest and last finishers whether in sprints or longer distances. And when even younger and skinny (!!!!!), I was rubbish at playing tag and british bulldog. That's not to say I enjoyed it today. It was bloody tough!!! - SO BLOODY TOUGH!!!! and I didn't think I would get to the end of each zombie minute (but I did, somehow). But it was exhilarating too. Whereas at school, it was just a miserable chore and I certainly never felt "good" afterwards. And I hope that I will be able to do it again and get better at it. Maybe even finish the program. Regardless... it worked my body today and I'm happy with that because I take each day as it comes.
