I can't believe it's been that long since I've actually updated anything on this site - wow - so sorry

A lot has gone on. I turned 60 in December and everything was fine - mental health wise - body wise - life wise. Suddenly in January everything goes to pot - lol It's like my body was on a timer and it went "ding" - time's over - you're officially an old person!

Maybe the first hint that any thing was about to happen was a week before my birthday in December I got my Golden Buckeye Card (discount card given to Ohio's 60 and above). It was like a slap in the face as the State of Ohio only gives those to "old" people. Aches and pains suddenly appeared (was this a mental thing?) and Advil because my new best friend.

In January I had a kidney stone attack - wow - painful. After all was said and done I now have to go to a Urologist who after testing I've found out that I also have gout and the kidney stones are uric acid based - not protein based - not calcium based which is a good thing because I don't have to change my diet. After more testing they found that I was low in potassium and citric acid so now I'm starting a pill diet the seems to come with old age. But on the good side I don't have to change my diet.

Anyway other than life's normal curve balls and day to day adventures this is what I've been dealing with.

My son started a Slim Fast diet this month and has done quite well. But it leaves me with nothing to eat really. Wish he'd started this before we went on our last grocery shopping trip not after as the fridge is full of all the "stuff" that he would normally eat (not me - most is not to my liking). If I didn't obsess over how much money I'm throwing away - I'd toss it all in the trash. I need to start looking at recipes that I can enjoy and not leave leftovers that will sit and not be eaten again.

I'm trying to get back to posting here and for some reason my aches and pains have subsided so I'm going to try to get out and walk.

Sorry this is so long - just had a lot of catching up to do.
