I'm back!

Hello Sparkpeople. It's been awhile.

I haven't been wanting to blog. I'm not sure why. Laziness I guess. But there are some good things going on in my life right now.

emoticonMy husband got a new job. He's so nervous and worried that it (he) will suck and they'll fire him. It's a contract-to-hire position, so I understand why he's scared, but I know he'll do well.

If everything goes right, we'll still be able to start the home-buying process in October. I hope so - We really need to get out of this neighborhood. Another person was shot down the street from my townhouse and a convicted child molester moved in up the hill from me.

emoticonI'm still training for the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. My husband got up super early last week to run/walk with me (I mostly ran, he mostly walked) which was fun. I'm trying not to feel guilty about leaving him behind so much.

Training had to take a break this week while I took care of Mom so my sister could take her family on vacation. I got up and did 30-day Shred the first morning, but not after that. Mom gets up every hour or so and needs help when she does. Add the cats and dog who chase each other around all night, and you don't get very much sleep. It's super hard to get up at 5:30 to exercise when you're running on 4-5 hours of interrupted sleep. I used my exercise bands when I thought about it, but most of the time I was so tired I was brain dead.

emoticonMom and I ate healthy meals all week and kept up with our water intake. My snacks took a nosedive - I re-learned that I have no willpower when it comes to avoiding junk food. And man, was there a lot of junk food in that house. But, because of the healthy meals I was able to keep Mom's blood sugar low enough that she only needed a shot of Lantus(24-hour insulin) on the first 2 nights and nothing on the rest! Just goes to show you how much power what you eat has over you!

So now I'm home, looking forward to snuggling with my husband. Tomorrow's my birthday and I'm planning on starting the Shop Hop by the Bay ( www.shophopbythebay.com ) with my sister and her friend. We'll do it in 2 days.
