Primal Reset: Day 9

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I don't really have much to say today. The BF and I made the drive back from DC to Ohio, and I must say that I am really, really tired of making that drive. Not only is it long and boring, but it costs us about $90 in gas round-trip.

Speaking of the BF, he has not only said "farewell" to Paleo, but presumably to any semblance of healthy eating. Yesterday he had a fried chicken sandwich from Roy Rogers for lunch, and a burrito stuffed with rice, beans, chicken, and cheese with cheese on top and more rice on the side for dinner. Today he had a Quiznos sub loaded with franken-meat for lunch, chicken for dinner (ok, that part is healthy), and now he's chowing down on a huge bowl of oatmeal topped with an overly generous portion of honey. None of this mentions, of course, the steady stream of coke and candy that he has consumed during our car rides both days.

When he said he was ditching Paleo, he assured me he'd at least stay healthy, but the past two days have shown that he's not exactly good at making healthy choices! This isn't me trying to be judgmental. I just want him to be healthy. If he wants to chow down on brown rice and beans, that's fine. But loading up on sugar and processed foods is not okay. But I know he'll just get frustrated with me if I bring it up. Maybe this is just him transitioning out of Primal and things will level out soon. At least, I hope so.

Breakfast: None. IF.

Lunch: None. IF.

Dinner: BAS and chicken.

Snack: Pork rinds.

That is rough, but I agree that advice would not be taken well. I know I don't appreciate it even when I know my husband is right. Remembering the gummy lifesavers I ate yesterday and my husband's chiding.

Well he has to come to the decision on his own to eat healthy. Sadly you are right saying anything isn't going to help even if it is with the best intentions!

emoticon Yikes. Maybe after he realizes that the bad food makes him feel like crap he'll be back to eating healthy at least. Maybe the diet was too restrictive for him. Good luck!

oh my!!! I guess you can only control your own eating, right? Racket-Guy had decided to go Paleo, as soon as we got Robb Wolf's book, but then he started Protein Powder and doesn't want to switch. Too many changes, he says. Baby steps. I'm not full paleo yet either (mmmmm, cheese!)
