2nd installment of "Events that can knock you off your feet"!!!

2nd Part.
My daughter called me with the results of the biospy. It was positive, she has lung cancer. She is 34 years old single parent with three boys. 17,13 and a will be 8 year old in December.

I am floored, I just can't see what the future holds for any of us right now.
I am terrified that my daughter will not make it.
I am terrified that I may become the main care giver to her for what ever life she may have left.
I am terrified that my husband and I will be the boys main care givers. I know that if we are given this job my husband and I will do the job as best as we can, still who wants a 56yr old and 63 yr old to be their parent figure! LOL

I'm trying so hard with the healthy life style I just don't need this stress. Thank goodness that we can not see into the future to see what is in stall for us.

I am digging in my finger nails to the edge of my life. I will not lose my "sobriety" (regarding food, meaning, the quality of refraining from excess etc.) for this event. If we have to bring up our grandchildren I need to be in shape!!!!! LOL

Prayers going out for you, husband, grandsons and your daughter. Cancer sux! Bad rough road ahead for you...and what you want will not be found in food,or drink, or drugs, or shopping, or any other crutch. Stay strong - for yourself and your family. emoticon I am sure that you will have the strength and fortitude to make it through, and be there when any of them need you to be. Also am sure that you can lean on them when you need to.

I know this must be so hard for your family to deal with. It seems trite to tell you to keep positive thoughts; but visualizations and meditation (and/or prayer) will help you deal with the stress. You need to take care of yourself also. emoticon

I am so sorry to hear this. You have it in you to be strong both for yourself by not letting food take over and for your daughter. Your health will be even more important now; you need to make sure you are in the best shape possible to help take care of your daughter and the boys, mentally and physically. Unfortunately, sometimes it is the bad times that bring us together but be sure to take this opportunity to mend your relationship with her.

Best wishes to all of you. emoticon

What a hard thing to learn about someone you love. Maybe this event will bring her closer to you so that you can "patch" things up. I know it's not easy but it always seems I learn something from hard times in life.
