Primal Reset: Day 8

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Things got a bit difficult again today. The BF and I drove from Ohio to DC to view some apartments, and try as I might, I have such a hard time staying Primal when I'm out of my element.

The day started off fine. I woke up at 7:00 and went for a 45-minute jog since I knew I'd be spending about 7 hours in the car. We were on the road by 9:00. I wasn't hungry this morning, so I IFed until about 2:30 when we stopped at Jimmy John's for lunch. At 6:30, we met one of the BF's friends for dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and I chose a totally Primal and delicious salad that has romaine, baby spinach, avocado, apples, pears, dried cranberries, and shrimp in it. Not problems at all...until we arrived at our final destination. The BF has tons of family in the DC/Maryland area, so we're spending the night at his aunt's house. Everything started off fine and dandy as we all sat around chit-chatting...and then suddenly our hosts were offering us beer and tortilla chips. And damnit, I couldn't resist the freakin' tortilla chips. There were 5 of us in the room, and the other 4 were munching away on the chips and I just hated sitting there wanting to eat them, but not allowing myself to. After 15 minutes of internal debate I said screw it and ate the damn chips. Luckily, it didn't turn into a binge. But still... tortilla chips. Really? Of all things? Why can't I be in a social situation and not eat the damn food?

The good news is that we found an apartment we love, and now we just need to hope that our application is the one that the owners choose!

Worjout: 45-minute jog.

Breakfast: None. IF.

Lunch: Jimmy John's J.J. Gargantuan Unwich.

Dinner: Huge salad.

Snack: Stupid tortilla chips of doom.

Congratulations on the apartment! I hope you guys get it! And HUGE congratulations on not going on a binge! Maybe you ate a few chips but at least you managed to stay away from going overboard and I think that's a great success.
