Birthday wishes

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Tomorrow I am officially old. Maybe you already thot I was old, but tomorrow in my mind I have reached old. When I am closer to 60 than 50, that marks my definition of old. The good thing is, I don't feel old (except for the creaky stiff joints in the am and after sitting for too long).

So on to my b-day wishes.
+ I think I'll always wish that my Mom didn't die on my b-day. Nuff said
+ I want to WANT to eat healthy again. It seems to be the furthest thing from my mind and my actions currently. For example, I need to get into the veggie bin and throw out those veggies that I'm pretty sure are rotten but I haven't been able to face that drawer.
+ I wish I wasn't afraid about my job disappearing.
+ I wish all kinds of things to numerous to mention regarding my teenage son.
+ I wish I could take an Alaskan cruise, and various other travel excursions including, but not limited, to Australia New Zealand & Ireland.
+ I wish our weather never got into the 90's & 100's.

    I really had a big "to-do".

It was on Thursday, so my Thursday night Bible study group took me out to a restaurant that I wanted to go to, Red Lobster AND the couple that leads the group, paid for my dinner of.... A 10 ounce lobster tail. It was SOOOO good and such a HUGE treat. AMAZING. I haven't been fussed over like that since, hummm, a suprize going away to college party, 38 years ago!

Also, my BFF took me out to lunch at IHOP (same day) and I had a senior omlette(sp?) with spinach, cheese, and roasted tomatoes, delish. Yes, it came with 2 buttermilk pancakes too. They have a special drink made with orange juice, 7-up and strawberry syrup & strawberries, yum.

Maybe this is sad in a way, both things, had to do with eating.

Wow! Great wish list. I will wish them for you too. I hope you had a lovely birthday. I'm sorry my wishes are late. I'm not sure how I missed your post. What did you do to celebrate?

When my grandmother was hurt, years ago, they asked my dad how old she was. He replied 91 and she, laying in the street with significant injuries, spoke up and told him sternly that she would not be 91 for another 3 months that she was 90! I want her spunk! And, she told her daughters when they asked her to join the senior citizens (same age) that she would let them know when she was old enough to join. (I love that story.)

So I guess our age is a state of mind. I hope to always be young!

    Happy Birthday!!!
