I'm having clothes made!!!

I was serious when I called myself a fatshionista. I have a corporate job and I am sooo sick of tugging, pulling and stretching cheapo clothes from avenue, macy's, etc. So sometime last winter I hooked up with a dressmaker/costume designer who is large herself and she is making me custom tops - ALL SILK (hey lane bryant, have you heard of silk? ) - and custom fit to my exact body, chest, short arms as big as a waist, low necklines like I like, in colors that look good on my skin. Her jackets are too pricey for me though and make no sense to buy since I change sizes all the time, so I'm making do with my cardigan collection.
So far I have 3 things, and I'm waiting for two others. You know how all of the summer fat clothes are hideous and made in hey-look-at-me-I'm-a-schoolbus colors? And in crappy, pilly fabrics to top it off? Not me, not anymore. Soft chartreuse, pinky coral silk, royal blue patterns, tanzanite purple, yum! These dressmaker people can copy clothing and modify it for you, its a wonderful thing.
Also, now I fit in a lot of department store 3x's, so my choices are less limited. I like Nordstrom's Sejour line, which is their own, and recently Eileen Fisher has started to fit me in the stretchy things, but a lot of that is raggy looking as well as expensive (a bad combination, yes?). But due to my gut which makes me out of proportion, I can't wear anything heavily structured without looking like a big gray brick. Or SpongeBob.
