I cried because I'm fat!

Sunday, June 19, 2011

I can't remember if I've ever done it. I know I've been down about my weight, think constantly about my weight, but today I all out cried about it. I can't even blame my hormones about it. I am 50lbs over weight, and it just seems hopeless to lose ANY of it. My 5'1" frame must be carrying 185lbs. The months of working out and eating sensibly just to lose any weight are enough to make me lose hope.

I start Zumba tomorrow after not going for 3 weeks. But I go in thinking "Why? It's not going to help. I just keep going and it just keeps not working." Not even the shape magazines that used to hold a glimmer of hope for me no longer seem to have sliver of treasure in them to hold on to. All the girls look amazing! I looked amazing when I was 25 too.

I'm just not finding any inspiration right now....maybe because I haven't been in 3 weeks?

I have been dieting since I was 15 years old, I was not even overweight, I just had supper skinny friends and thought I was fat.

After having 2 kids and not riding horse's every day, then getting sick, the wight PILED on. I was up to 285 and at 5'1, NOT good!
I realized most of our going out & family parties revolved around eating!

I started SP in 2010 at 226. I did good, then wandered away, gained it back.
Came back, this time read the book and followed the stages, it really helped.

A few things that have really helped me is:

    1. this is not a race, it takes time, expecting to drop a large amount quickly, in a healthy way while living with a husband & kids and living your day to day life is not easy.

    2. Make changes that you can live with the rest of your life.
IE; can you live with a liquid lunch the rest of your life,or never eat fast food again? Will you go to the gym at 4 am for the rest of your life?
Make changes that work with your life style!

    3. You don't have to make insane changes or become a gym rat to get exercise, walking at least 30 minutes a day will work just fine

    4. Small changes, consistency, these are the things that will help you lose weight and keep it off over time!

As you lose wight you might want to try new exercise, work harder or start bike riding, but you need to start someplace and be consistent. Get walking with the kids every day, they will love it!
As they get older and you have more time to yourself you can do other things.

Take it one day at a time! You may start noticing non-scale victories before the scale ones.

Hang in there, things will get better. Try to take it one day at a time. There was a time I felt pretty much the same way. Don't beat yourself up when things go wrong. Been there, done that. As a friend of mine would say: PRESS ON!
