Made it through a rough day
Saturday, June 18, 2011
Today is the day after my deceased daughter's 43rd birthday. It will be 15 years without her on June 30, this year. It's always worse before the date, managable on the date, and much better after it passes. Time is not only a great healer, but a great teacher.
This year I was on the road to blowing my food plan with two "not very good" eating days, but I pulled it out on Friday, in honor of her birthday, and did an about face. I stayed right on target, and sticking to my healthy filling foods, I finished the day eating less than usual, and more healthy than I have in a while. So I made it through a rough day, and now I feel better because of it. Of course I was up at 5am today, hungry as a horse, but have eaten a healthy breakfast and ate a second fruit when I didn't feel quite satisfied. So I'm good to go, and moving forward again. I have a birthday Sunday, but the kids and I will eat sensibly, and I'll be able to put this week behind me. At least that's my plan, and I'm sticking to it!
