The Power of Momentum

Some things come easy while some things require more effort than any one person may think possible. The latter is the way I have felt about the monumental weight loss effort that I have in front of me. That is until I actually started doing it. I have often heard that the hardest part of losing weight is getting started. I can attest to the fact that it is true. I am not saying that this journey is ever easy, just that once you begin the momentum begins to carry you on to things that you never thought possible. And although it still requires effort, it doesn't require nearly as much to keep yourself moving as it did to get yourself moving in the first place. Momentum is a wonderful thing. Once you have it, don't let it slip away.

    I started out last July like "a house on fire" .... then we went on an extended vacation & my fledgling program that was just starting ... died.

    But I'm back now & doubt that I will quit again because you're right .... there were lots of things I thought were impossible (or at least implausible) that I now realize are doable.

    Excellent point my friend.

    Sometimes it is hard to jump on the train, but once it starts moving, you don't want to jump off.

    Just enjoy the ride and see how far it goes.

    A great tool to keep momentum is the concept of streaks! I had a hard time getting myself to do strength training - well, that was 297 days ago! I may be exhausted in the evening and will do some strength training just because I don't want to mess up my streak! Woo Hoo!

    I hear you! Don't look at the BIG plan....just look at today...the next meal...the next blog, the next thing to track. Nothing breeds success like momentum....your success is your best picker upper!
