On the fence about Sunday's 5k walk

Well I made a goal for myself to do five 5ks walks between May and October. I completed May's but aren't sure if I will do the planned one on Sunday. Initially me and the man were going to out of town for my birthday next week and after May's event I didn't want to end up not able to go on the trip due to injuries. My biggest challenge right now is my knee. I was having problems with my left knee prior to my latest fitness venture and as I began weight bearing exercising and lost 15 pounds I saw improvement, which is why I didn't mention it to my doctor at a recent visit. I know, bad mistake! The last two weeks however I haven't been exercising for various reasons(not sleeping, vacation, extremely hot weather) and my knee has gotten worse. I didn't want to be detered so I did a Hip Hop Abs DVD today. I was very aware of my knee and my technique and didn't overextend but I'll see how I feel in the morning.

As for the 5k, I am certainly better trained for this one than the last one so I may have to make my decision at the last minute. There's a part of me that says just do the one in July. Frankly even if I don't participate Sunday I have increased my exercise over the last four weeks and that too is an accomplishment. Stay tuned.
