Day 30: C25k done . . . on to Gateway to 8k

Having officially finished the accelerated Couch to 5k programme on Saturday afternoon I decided to give the interval training programme for an 8k a shot. It is to be found on the podrunner website:
The bpm is slightly faster than the C25k series, and it features the same electronica mixes as the earlier programme. I did the first day of week one today and was SHOCKED to discover that I had been running nearly 9kph including the four one-minute walking segments!!! That is an entire kilometer per hour more than my top time on the treadmill. I think the upbeat tunes really helped me out on this one.
I also did some upper-body strength-training, and of course, my post-run yoga stretches.
