Baby steps

Monday, June 13, 2011

Ok, so I reset my tracker to represent what the scale said this morning...193.8. How incredibly embarassing. I was 174 six months ago....sad right? So here's me taking baby steps. I really want to be to 175 by the time school starts on august I don't feel so embarassed in my I set my stuff here on spark. I used to burn like 600-1000 calories a day by working out...with my new crazy schedule, that just isn't possible. I'm aiming for 1500 calories per week.....which puts me at a 1200-1550 calorie range per day. I'm going to shoot for about 1450 for now....and once I have eased myself into this workout schedule, I will see if i can up my calorie burn...The plan is all vegan eating.....and my workout plan was posted yesterday. I'm not sure how many pounds per week I need to lose to reach my goal...but I'm assuming it's 2 pounds or less per week since Spark didn't tell me I was making a bad decision lol. I'm not going to pressure's a goal that I am going to strive to work....

Baby steps:

Switch to all vegan eating (phase 1: grocery shopping complete)

Follow the plan I posted yesterday for workouts....1500 calories per week minimum
Mondays- 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga. DVD or Gym
Tuesday: 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga.
Wednesday: 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga The Shred.
Thursday: 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga. DVD
Friday: 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga. DVD
Saturday/Sunday: 15 minutes AM Yoga. 4.5 mile walk. 15 minutes PM Yoga. DVD or GYM

Eat 1200-1550 calories per day of VEGAN food lol

Get back to drinking 100+ ounces of water per day

If drinking green tea, use stevia or agave for sweetener with lemon juice and log it
take pictures of everything I eat this week, to serve as a wakeup call

No eating out until either my mom visits/Shaun and my anniversary (we are doing vegan chinese)

Do one physical activity a day...walking, yoga, dvd, gym, perking...all included! lol

Meditate for 15 minutes minimum per day..this is VERY critical....I need this ME time....I need the time to just be....

Do yoga at least 3 days per realign my body and my soul

No drinking all week...I am sad to say that there were a few weeks there where I did have wine at least 2 or 3 times a week.....I don't like no more.

Say something positive about my life and about myself each day

Ok I think that's enough...because I'm feeling overwhelmed...but that's the baby steps to feeling better about myself.....about focusing on my health once again and to pull myself out of this whole that I feel I am in.

I am a huge advocate of baby steps! Good for you for realizing the sometimes moving forward involved scaling back.

In looking at your schedule, I think you're underestimating how many calories you're going to burn... with 30 min of yoga (which burns more calories than you'd think) & a 3.3 mile walk daily, I'm thinking it will be more in the neighbourhood of 2500-3000 cal. Guess you'll have a better idea after the first week on your new schedule.

I love that you've included yoga & meditation in your plan. You have such a busy life right now & stress releases hormones that make us pack on the pounds.

You can do this & we're all here cheering you on!!!!

I'm so glad to see you're making yoga part of your plan. I'm having trouble fitting everything in, so I sacrificed yoga for cardio. When I get to my goal weight, yoga is definitely coming back.

You can do this!! I think your plan is great, taking baby steps is the only way to make sure changes are long term and not just a quick fix.

I feel dizzy and stressed just by reading all these. first thing : calm down, breathe. you have 2 month so it's possible. don't think of how much you have to loose in a week to reach your goal. focus on eating within range and exercising. my schedule is 20 minutes cardio each day, spark says that's 1450 calories/week. it's the first thing I do in the morning. if I have time I do more , if not it 's ok.eating outside is absolutely out of the question. vegan , I don't know , you know your body the best. for me it's protein. eating 1450 is possible , I ate like that last month , i don't need more now.try to make balanced meals , not 2 meals of 100 calories and the third 700. and you need to find food that you like and that can keep hunger away. don't forget to have fun while doing this.good luck!
