I found this picture hidden behind a picture in a frame! This was about 15 years ago, I was in a wedding in North Carolina. Most people comment on how my husband had hair and they've never known him with hair. I just look at myself and think...even then I didn't like my figure. Talk about body image distortion! Where IS that body and how could that girl have been living on pizza, burgers, & Pepsi?? Crazy!

But now I have better eating habits, I'm physically stronger and I certainly don't live and don't want to live on pizza, burgers & Pepsi.

Oh and by the way, that dress really brings to mind Vanity Sizing. That dress was a dressmakers size 10. Then I wore department store sized clothes 6. I can now fit in to today's sizes of 6 or 8, but I have a skirt that is a size 8 from 15 years ago and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY I can zip it!! Uhg...Vanity Sizing. So, even though most of my current sized pants are a 6, my waist is still 6 inches bigger than what HEALTHY should be for me! Crazy. Don't let vanity sizing trick you. If 15 years ago I was the size I am now, I probably would wear a size 10 from the department store and that pink dress would have been a 14!

Beautiful girl wearing that dress. I was watching the Dr. Oz show about vanity sizing the other day and that was really an eye opener for those women on the show for sure.
I know that now I wear a size 4 and a size 2 if it is cut right in jeans. Back when I first got married thirty years ago I was at 128 and wore a size 9 then and thought I was fat? Crazy huh!!! I just got down to 119 last month so in the real size world I would wear a size seven or eight I would think. Great blog. Sandy
