I signed up for SparkPeople before the book came out and before I was really ready to start. I picked up The Spark at the beginning of 2010 and it changed my life! The book encouraged me to feel good about myself, urged me to keep going, and challenged me to see what I could do. I lost 36 pounds that year and really changed me inside and out. The winter slowed me down and I have been at a bit plateau for almost 9 months. I am now down 41 pounds and have about 20 more pounds to go.
I am not as gung-ho this time around so I am going back to my roots. I am rereading The Spark and starting over. I am starting with my fast track goals:
Drink 8 oz. of water every day.
Exercise at least 10 minutes a day.
Interact on SparkPeople.com each day.
My streak is 1 day so far, and working on day 2 today. I want to see how long I can keep these streaks going!
I think what happened to me was that I was succeeding and getting closer to my goal but getting frustrated at being so close and not making more progress. I changed my exercise regime and then slacked off. I figured that I need to break this all down into smaller pieces that will make up the big picture. I think these fast track goals will help me out to build more consistency for me.
My spark didn't go out, it just needs more fuel.
