We've got the beat...

Friday, June 10, 2011

I'm sitting here at work wearing my Mpls Marathon 2011 shirt and size 10 jeans, and I am marveling at how far I've come in the last year and a half. I've yo-yo'ed, sure, but I have managed to end up on the happy end of things. I've got just about 10 lbs to go to meet my first goal. May end up meeting it a year later than I planned, but get back to 147# at all is a pretty big deal.

I placed another Bondi Band order last night. I love their wicking headbands. They stay in place and they help catch sweat. For the win! Last night, I ordered one that says "Duathlete" (to wear for the Duathlon in August), one that says "Run. Walk. Crawl. Finish.", and one that says "SLOW... it's the new fast!". For buying 3 Bondi Bands, I got a 13.1 magnet for my car for free! I needed to order more bands because I can't find my 5K band, or my "I love running, I hate running, I love running, I hate running" bands. I did just find my "This -is- my race pace" band though.

I can't stop listening to my 13.1 playlist. The songs make me smile as they bring me back to how great I felt out on the race course on Sunday. Here's my playlist:

I'm walking the Dog Day 5k tomorrow in Minneapolis with Sean, Jetta, our friends Heidi and Jake, and their dog Aurora (and maybe Orion, too). It should be a nice walk, and we're hoping to go to Pizzeria Lola (54th & Xerxes) afterward, since tomorrow's the first day they're open for lunch!

We have a soiree to attend tomorrow evening - the grand opening party for the HAUS Salon, where our fantastic hairstylist, Caitlin, is now working her magic (used to be the Juut Gaviidae salong). I'm hoping to get in today for a haircut... we'll see what she has open. I bought a slinky black dress at Kohl's the other week (when I bought these tiny jeans!), and I'll have Sean shoot a few photos of me wearing it and post them. :) We also have a Twins game on Sunday... hoping for nice weather.

Jetta and I went for a walk around Lake Harriet on Thursday night, to celebrate the 30-degree temperature drop in 24 hours... and I took these photos:

Have a great weekend everyone!

The weekend sure looks promising! The Famous Dave's Blues Fest is happening on Saturday, so we'll be hanging out and listening to the tunes. I'm hoping for a long bike ride or two, as well as some time with a book I'm reading.

    Here's to a fabulous weekend!
