Tony Horton, Day 8

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

The first day of week 2 is done!

I slept in today, then went for a walk with a friend. We did two laps around the trail, so that's two miles. We had her dog with us and he was so funny. He kept trying to eat leaves off all the bushes and at one point, he got in the pond to cool off. Then of course he tried to play fetch, but by his rules, for quite awhile. It was a lot of fun!

After the walk, I came home and did cardio, abs and yoga for my 10-Minute Trainer program. I got some rest and checked up on everything on here, visited some people, posted on my teams. Then Taylor had her orchestra lesson.

When we got home, I had a barbecue burger. Its like a sloppy joe. The recipe is a Joanna Lund recipe. I believe its from the Heart Healthy cookbook. Very yummy! Let me know if you want the recipe.

After eating, I went to Hulu and watched the next episode of Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition. This one was Alex. His results are AMAZING!!! The whole time I watched the show, I did the Wii Fit Free Step. 50 minutes of up, down, up, down. lol I was sweating my butt off! Literally, my glutes and hips were aching. :P

So that brought me to 154 fitness minutes, and of course I couldn't stop when I was that close to the next hour, since I fell short of reaching the next hour every other day this week, so I did upper body strength training. I always try to hit it right on the hour, and I always miss. :P I did 10 different upper body exercises, 3 sets of 15 each. I'm surprised I can type right now. My arms sort of feel rubbery. :P But its worth it! I made it to 181 total minutes. Woohoo!!! And bonus! I burned just over 1000 calories today! I'm pretty sure that's the highest I've gone on calories burned to date.

While I was visiting people tonight, I read a blog from MINWEN, who's one of my fellow Red Hots. He said he was reading The Spark on his daughter's Kindle. Duh! I've been wanting to buy the book for so long, but didn't want to spend the money on shipping for just one item. It never even occurred to me to check Amazon for a Kindle version. Sometimes I scare myself. lol

So I downloaded The Spark, and I plan on starting it while soaking in a steaming bath later. For any of you that haven't bought the book already, if you have a Kindle, now is a great time to get it. Its $1.99 right now!!!!

Alright, I'm outta here. I have to get my lunch together for tomorrow. Have a great night everyone!

I'm glad you had a good day! :) Thanks so much for mentioning The Spark. I have been wanting it, but haven't wanted to spend the money. I don't have a Kindle, but I do have Kindle for PC, so I just downloaded it and I will read it on the computer. I even got it free, because I have a credit on Amazon. I'm so excited to read it!
