End of (school) year madness!

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

Well this year is officially over. As always it is with mixed feelings that I end the year, elation at having free time, getting some space and generally enjoying summer. However I also miss my students and of course there is the feeling that yet another year has flown by. This year the end of the year snuck up on me and I have to admit I did not spark as much as I should have. I didn't get to the gym due to working all day and having work functions all night.

I can successfully say though that I have survived. I survived the end of one semester of classes and started my final semester for my masters, I also survived prom, graduation, and of course other end of the year craziness.

I am back though, yesterday was the first official day back and I got signed up to swim at an outdoor pool and this morning I enjoyed an 8 mile bike ride and a 1 mile swim. This summer there are no excuses, I am not working for the first time in YEARS and really have very little to do outside of my masters, so what better than to workout and enjoy the outdoors.

As for my goals, May went well, I lost count the last few days, however I know that I was at 65 on the May 25th, therefore I can mark this goal as a SUCCESS! I had fun eating lots of vegetables and hope to continue to make them a regular guest on the plate.

Now June, I have decided at this time not to define a final goal (yes this may defeat the purpose) but I want to spend time knitting and I don't wish to stress myself out by setting a goal I may not accomplish, therefore the goal is to knit and knit often. I love the hobby and am proud of the work I produce, I also constantly challenge myself and for the beginning of summer I am going to enjoy myself and simply knit.

I guess that's all for now, it's time for me to buckle down and crack out a paper. LAST SEMESTER OF SCHOOL!
