Still searching for a kidney for my sister!

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

This is a message posted by my brother-in-law on Facebook. The more we can get the word out, the better! My sisters kidney function is now below 10% and even though she seems fine, dialysis will be very draining. I remember what our dad went through years ago. There is more info on my previous blog if you are interested. Thankyou! Just spreading the word will help!

The time is now to step up efforts to find Anne a kidney, I have moved past the idea that any one of us is able or willing to throw a kidney on the table so here is what you can to to help.....
Spread the word, you may not think that it helps, but it may just come across someone who is willing, able and medically suitable to. Think of your contacts and who you could reach out to who may be able to get the message out on a larger scale...recently I have been posting the link on Century 21 website, some red sox players sites, other kidney pages, but the key is to get them to repost it as it sends notifications to all their subscribers. I just posted a note today on Calling all Kidneys which gives some direction to people on what they can do, but I am more than open to other ideas on how to spread the word.
It may not seem like we are in crunch mode because Anne doesnt appear ill, but she is on the cusp of having to start dialysis soon. So I ask that every few days you check one of the pages and share a link that directs people to the page or write a personal note explaining your connection to Anne...Social media networking has worked for others in searching for donors and I want to be a success story as well, be an advocate and make a difference and keep it rolling as I am sure making only one post is not going to do it, but throwing it out there a few times a week just may do the trick....Thank you
