Yup, I broke the scale.

Today is day 7 of my weight loss adventure. I'd like to weigh myself so I can track my progress, but alas - I have literally tipped the scale. Yes, that's right folks. I am so damn fat, the scale actually broke. Naa, just kidding. It wasn't my weight that broke the scale, but nevertheless, it is broken so I can't weigh myself. I'll have to wait till tomorrow and use the scale at work.

Today has been pretty good so far, although my husband hurt his back yesterday and has thus been sleeping pretty much all day today. I saw a movie this morning with my mom (Bridesmaids) which was pretty funny if not a little too long in my opinion. Managed to get a great bargain at Lane Bryant (paid $5 total for a shirt, sandals, and socks) and then it was on to Aldi for some grocery shopping. It's my TOM so the next couple of days might be a challenge for me. I have to stay on track and not binge.

I notice a lot of Sparkers have created lists of reasons they want to lose weight and I think it's a great idea. I am really looking forward to the day that I no longer have to shop at Lane Bryant and Avenue for clothes. I'll add that to my list.

That was funny. It sounds like you are making progress. I remember when I was finally able to give away the clothing I had bought at Lane Bryant.

I completely know the feeling of no longer wanting to shop in the plus size stores. Years ago, I was working in the fast-paced retail environment of H&M - also known for smaller clothing sizes. I was so stoked the day I could fit into one of their tops - and I was thinner because I was on my feet for about 75 hours a week, running back and forth & up & down stairs. Sadly, because my hours were so crazy, I didn't change my eating habits, so when I was no longer working such a fast-paced job, I packed on all the pounds again (and then some!) I am looking forward to the day when I can shop anywhere AND wear high heels again!

As for the scale, I was so bummed out when I went to the doctor last fall. They were a new office for me, and their scale only went up to 350. I never want to hear that 'thunk' again.

OMG I totally loved the day I bought clothes at NY&Co! I liked a shirt in the window and totally didnt think I would fit into it but my mom convinced to try and it fit I also bought 2 pairs of pants that day. What amazed me the most was that I bought the same size pants in NY&Co that I would have bought in Lane Bryant (which was where I was headed in the first place) and spent $10 less on each pair and they werent even on sale it was an AWESOME day! You will totally be excited when that day comes.

Your blog brought a smile to my face. It is my greatest fear that I will step on the scale and get a reaction like in the cartoons. Although you that is not what happened to you, it still brought a smile. I know the feeling about being able to walk into any store and shop off the rack. I got to experience that feeling about two years ago and it was great. Unfortunately, I gained back all the weight that I lost. I refuse to go into any store until I can shop at a regular retail outlet. Until then, I will continue to wear my fat clothes and dream of smaller sizes.

    Thanks for the laugh.
