First Street Run - done!

Sunday, June 05, 2011

Good morning Sparkfolks! So here's the scoop: as predicted, I was so pumped up last night about running this morning that it took forever to fall asleep! We're talking like 2am-ish. So needless to say, getting up at 6am didn't happen. BUT I did get up at 7am! Finally got out of the house around 9am, back by 10am.

First I walked to warm up, then I started running. I ran one block, then walked one block. Then I ran one block and so on. Even discovered that a high school near my house has a nice track so I'm planning to check that out next time (when they're not having a game). And I went by the farmer's market, just a quick cruise to make note of what they have.

No shin-splints, no cramps or side-stitch and breathing/asthma under control. Only pain was toward the end - my raceback support tank was starting to give me a neckache (new support gear is on my to-do list).

So here are my stats:
Out: 1 hour or so
Mileage: 4.45
Steps: 5875
Aerobic Steps: 5121

I will continue with alternating walk-one-block/run-one-block until my stamina builds up. No run tomorrow, but might hit gym for strength training or a swim. Tentatively going to run again Tuesday a.m. - maybe at a track. Whew! Time for a nap! ; )
