Posture Support?

Thursday, June 02, 2011

There is nothing like the pictures from your daughter's wedding to show you how much you slouch! I know I was exhausted and felt the weight of the world, but I think that may be just regular ole poor posture. Right now as I am typing I am trying my best to sit straight and can feel the pull on my back.

Does anyone have suggestions?---exercises, support? I went to and may have found a support I could wear for a while as I train my posture.

The photos reminded me so much of my mom as she was about my age and the slouch she had. It is time I do something about it!

The stability ball is great. Give it a try. emoticon

You have raised a good point. I think most who spend time at a desk or in front of a computer screen will notice they have some type of posture distortion. That is one thing I became very aware of through some of my challenges. Often, I will find myself re-aligning. One thing that I found works well for me is using a stability ball rather than a desk chair when working on my computer. I hope you find something which works for you. Sometimes it is trial and error. They also make regular desk chairs simulating the stability ball, but too pricey for me. emoticon

I know exactly what you mean. I also slouch like my mother used to. I have tried so many exercises but nothing seems to help. It so hard to get rid of. I used to work on the computer all day long when i was younger and i think that is how it started. If you figure out how to not slouch, let me know. I think it is from habit and hard to get rid of. emoticon Monica
