Why I run.

It's National Running Day!!

I didn't know this until an hour ago but I'm excited all the same. A whole day devoted to celebrating my favourite sport of all time! Woo Hoo!

What better day to explore my passion than today? So, here it goes - why I run.

I run...

*because it is one of the most primitive and beautiful forms of human motion

*to enhance the flow of endorphins through my body

*because I feel like I'm 17 again when I do

*because it is a perfect time for meditation and connection to my inner life

*to burn calories in an extra efficient manner

*so I can wear my size 2 jeans

*because the battle against the elements reminds me of my resilience in this tough world

*to prove something to my aging knees

*towards life and health - not "from" anything

*because I can carry my equipment in a small satchel and do it wherever I am

*because it's faster than walking

*for fantastic calf muscle definition

*to feel, for an hour at least, completely free

*because injuries are temporary

*for my happiness

*to feel great

*because I can!
