I woke up Swole!

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

Well not the type of "swole" that I'm going towards for Operation Prison Swole out here...more like everything including my face was extremely bloated when I woke up this morning. emoticon It was so uncomfortable and scary at the same time--this is the second time it's happened this week.
At first I was absolutely confused as to why I was like this, I've been eating well (or so I thought), been consistent with drinking a large amount of water a day (yesterday I drank 5 liters of water, that's like what, over a gallon right?) and exercise.
So I back tracked what I've been eating and I think I found the culprits...
1. I take RoxyLean ECA, which curbs hunger...I allowed it to curb my hunger more than it should. I wasn't eating my 6 small meals a day, which more than likely put my body into starvation mode. emoticon
2. I've been snacking on these Beanitos bean chips in the evening when I'm a little hungry right before bed...I thought that the sodium content wasn't that much, but I know I've had more than one serving at a time, justifying it with how little I ate the past few days. emoticon

So today I didn't take the ECA and I added more carbs to my meals to soak up some of the water and I feel better and been going to the bathroom more. I think I'm going to lay off of that stuff for a while, it's causing more harm than good I think.
The chips has GOT TO GO.
I've been reading up on carb cycling...I think I will give that a shot and in a couple of months share my opinion of it.
Once I can get all this water out of my system and back to where I was I need to take some progress pics and post them.

Sounds good and I am glad you stopped and really thought things out on why your body was reacting that way. What is carb cycling, I've not heard of it before.

I know chips have got to be a go to food when you are overseas, any options on a healthier version with low sodium?

I need to tell you, honey you are motivating me to dust off the BowFlex next week once school is out for the summer here and really stepping it up for myself with strength training. Please post new photos and stats so I can cheer you on with all the results! emoticon

Hey, I did my 2nd 5k race today, and placed 1st for my age division- this is ME a person who's never considered doing interval training let alone racing at the age of 40 something.
