Insanity Day 36 - Fit Test & Max Interval Circuit

Monday, May 30, 2011

Putting the DVD in and I started feeling butterflies in my stomach. I asked myself, "am I ready for this?" I was very afraid to do this. Month 1 was hard but I eventually built up strength and stamina and was able to handle what Shaun T. had for me but I wasn't sure about Month 2.

First I did the Fit test. Required for today before Max Interval Circuit. My plan was to do the Fit Test in the morning and then Max Interval Circuit in the afternoon after I give my body time to recover. It didn't work out that way. I did both back to back. I guess I am like DRACONUS75, "few marbles short of a full jar" as he referred to himself for doing both exercises back to back. What was I thinking? I put all of my energy into my Fit test. Monday just don't seem to be a fair day to do this Fit test. After a rest day, it is kinda hard trying to do any type of test. emoticon

The scores are as follows:

1st Fit Test 04/25/11; 2nd Fit Test 05/09/11 and today's Fit test 05/30/11.

Switch kicks - 88/118/111
Power jacks - 27/33/46
Power knees - 81/81/103
Power jumps - 23/16/28
Globe jumps - 6/8/11
Suicide jumps - 7/7/9
Push-up jacks - 11/7/14
Low plank oblique - 31/31/37

Then it was next to Max Interval Circuit. No energy to do this. I think I sweat all of my energy out after the Fit Test. I was determined. I will get this done. I can do this. I am ready. I was already worked up so I can do this.

Shaun T. started off saying "this will kick your butt". I was really afraid by then. I'm not sure why I am so anxious about Month 2. I think it's the unknown that is making me a little nervous. I didn't want to preview the DVD. I wanted to be surprise. And I was very surprise.

The work out is about 1 hour long. I don't care what is your fitness level, Insanity will be hard. I do Insanity because I love the challenge & the intensity.

The structure is the same as all of the other DVDS: Warm-up, stretch, workout, and stretch.

Warm-up consist of 3 reps:
Jog, straight-arm jacks, 123-123, jump rope (I had no energy to jump any ropes, I hope to do better the next go around with this DVD, it will not involve the fit test), high knees with your arms out, switch kicks and side-to-side floor hops (this was not pretty). After warm up then we stretch...whew, thank you. I was dying here.

Now we are on to the workout. I am more focus on my form/technique than keeping up with everyone on the DVD. We did pedal/power lunges. No problem. Then we got to Ski Abs/Push-up Jacks/In-out Abs/Oblique Push-ups. This was actually one exercise. In month 1, these were done as individual exercises. I did only 1 set of these. I think 2 had to be done. I guess I will get it right next time. We had a couple more exercises and I was able to do them but my mind was really going. I keep asking myself "WHY?" My answer every time was "WHY NOT?!" My other problem exercise was full body drill. This was also a combination of 3 different exercises joined together. The workout was 3 reps total.

I survived Max Interval Circuit but it took me a couple of hours to get myself together.

Thank you all for your support on my INSANE ride. emoticon emoticon
