Completing challenges & accountability

Yesterday I completed 2 challenges, the Spring into Shape Bootcamp Challenge and the 30 Day Shred DVD. The 1st Challenge I completed in the allotted time, the 2nd I didn't. I actually started the 30 Day Shred, a personal challenge, on April 25 and was supposed to finish on May 24 but I didn't finish until May 28. However, in the 34 days, I did the Shred 36 times because I did 2 levels on 6 separate occasions. I'm very literal so when I skipped a day because I didn't feel well I wasn't sure if I should start over but decided to just keep going and add in a workout. The Spring Challenge stated that you could make up a video if you missed a day so that's what I did with the Shred challenge. Also, this way I was able to end both challenges on the same day.

I have to say that the Shred Challenge was a bit difficult. Unlike my 30 Day Gym Challenge when I went to the gym with a cold, the Shred involved weights and explosive cardio which I could not do when I was sick. Plus I was going to the gym in addition to the 2 challenges.

Here's what I've gotten rid of in the 21 weeks since I joined SP: 38.6 lbs, 3 sizes, 26 1/2 inches! I'm a size 10 again; when I started I could barely fit into size 16! I'm enjoying working out and eating healthy foods. I'm happier and I've gained confidence in my abilities and know that I will be able to continue to my goal and then maintain once I've reached it.

I'm looking forward to my next challenge. I realize that I need to build in a rest day each week on any challenge that I do involving weights. This is all a learning experience. I'm thinking about another Jillian Michaels Challenge that involves 3 of her DVDs and does have a rest day each week. I'm going to continue working out hard. I was inspired by all the contestants on Biggest Loser and plan to be as fit as they are; that's my real goal, my weight goal might change depending on how much I weigh when I'm as fit as I can be.

Set some challenges for yourself! It helps move things along & it's so terrific when you complete them. I'll be there to cheer you on!

    You have accomplished so much in just 21 weeks! You rock!!!

    You are right about the challenges, at least for me. I need the additional accountability and push sometimes to do what I know I need too! Keep moving forward!

    You've done an amazing job in knowing how to challenge yourself but not make it impossible. And your tenacity! Like a dog with a bone! I love how it's paying off for you, all the weight you've lost and the sizes lost too. You are seriously rocking this thing. We need pics now!
