Day 14: Running and green monsters

I have nearly completed the spark c25k program - three more runs next week and I am officially a runner!

I did 40 minutes in the park - 3.5 miles - and felt great afterwards. I felt like I could just keep going. Unfortunately, by the time I got through my upper body strength routine and the yoga stretches, my feet and legs were really aching. But in a good way!

This morning I decided to branch out and try to make a Green Monster with something other than spinach. Since the only other greens my grocers had when I did the marketing yesterday was Swiss Chard, Swiss Chard it was.

To cut the sharper "green" flavour, I added some citrus, like YOGINIMAMA108 suggested.

Before blending:

1/2 cup chopped Swiss chard
1/2 cup diced honeydew melon
1 juicing orange, seeds removed
1 cup soy milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp tahini
1/2 banana

Finished product:

This made enough for one large or two small servings. I went with small because I like to have some solid food for breakfast as well, especially since my weekend workouts are usually in the morning!
