So, I don't keep track of how many days I've been on this journey or anything like that because I feel like if you're counting the days it means you're going to stop as some point. But I was checking out my Spark streaks and saw that this was day 150 for me on SP. Wow. That seems like a milestone of sorts and something that I should make a note of.
I'm still feeling pretty good about everything I'm doing. I've been really consistent with my fitness which is something I've struggled with in the past. I'm not someone that you would ever describe as lazy but I haven't been active since high school (and only because I played sports). My activity level definitely increased when I moved to NY five years ago though because you're pretty much forced to walk a lot. I mean, A LOT! But I love that "forced" exercise.
My eating has definitely improved. I kind of gave up eating healthy for a long time. One of my favorite foods is French fries but I stopped getting fries with everything a few months ago. I've had a few fries here and there but I'm proud of myself that I rarely eat them anymore and it hasn't been an issue. I also love sandwiches and Mexican food but have done a good job of just modifying what I used to eat to make it healthier.
I think the biggest difference in what I used to do and what I'm doing now is that my lifestyle hasn't changed dramatically. I'm not depriving myself of foods because they're "bad," I just eat healthier versions of things I've always loved. And I'm eating more vegetables and fruit and being aware of calories. And that is why this is my lifestyle, not a diet.
