just another baby step

This is another whirlwind doctor visit week.
Pt yesterday. Orthopedic Knee doc today (pre-op visit), PT tomorrow, and pre-op visit with my PCP (Didn't I JUST see her last week for my annual, and the week before for the rash/bloodwork, etc.), annual mammogram on Thursday.

The physical therapist put a pillow case on the piece of equipment to protect my face... that seemed to help. It was a good 30 minute session, with its challenges and weights.

Yesterday was also my monthly phone meeting with the health coach through my insurance - and I dreaded telling her about the weight gain due to the steroids for the rash and pain - she said it is understandable, and that was a reason for the weight gain.
I could not bring myself to change my weight tracker on here. Sorry, folks.

My very short term plan until surgery is this:
Get decent sleep (as much as possible)
drink my 8 cups of water.
Aim for recumbent bike 2x's per week 5-10 minutes
Aim for wii fit - yoga, balance, stepping 2-3x's per week 10-15 minutes.
Aim - banish 2 lbs before June 15.
Keep calories in the 1500 - 1600 range (difficult to do!)
(I have kept it under 1700 for two days, that's a start)
Physical therapy 2 x's per week (til it ends)
daily home physical therapy routine
one rest day per week (at least - due to recovery from surgery(s)).

Oh, and I forgot one more major thing:
Focus on my breathing (yoga breathing, deep cleansing breaths). This has been difficult because my asthma allergies are a bit aggravated right now.

Breathe!

You have a good plan in place and you are taking a lot of care of yourself. You are blessed with carers and doctors and therapists.
Just do what needs to be done and do not stress Luna.
I think you might stop caring about the weight tracker like you should be punished for the numbers changing? It's meant to be there as an indicator not a punishment! Just sayin' that I know it frustrating when the numbers are not what we want to see, but that is real, so is your health journey.

Sounds like you have a plan. It's good to look ahead and plan.
I have had my right knee arthroscopiced twice and the left once. Now i have recovered from total knee replacement of right knee and will have the left replaced in July.
You'll come through the arthroscopic surgery fine.
But I hope they find out whats casing your allergic reaction. it its latex, they have to know ahead of surgery.
The Doctor tells you to eat less and I have to eat more.
I do agree 1800 is too many calories, for a sedate lifestyle.
And I'm too active for 1200, so I have to increase to 1400 or 1500 a day. And that's hard for me to do. For always before when I ate like that I would gain. But I wasn't working out like I do now. So I will defer to the Doctor and my Dietitian
    and follow their directions.
You take care, don't worry, stress is bad.
    Stay positive.

You are doing fine. You must start slowly and carefully and it looks like you have a great plan worked out. So glad your health coach understands about the meds and weight gain. I dread ever having to go on steroids, hope not.
Nothing like a physiotherapist to work you to the maximum. My PT exercises take a good part of my morning.
Hope you can get some decent sleep! The deep breathing would be good for your lungs, that is for sure hope you are able to do it..
All the best with your appointments!!

You are certainly a busy lady! It sounds like you have the inner fortitude to reach your pre-surgery goals. I'll be right here, cheering you on! I'll add my prayers, too.
