Hello Spark!

Kind of a fly-by post tonight. I'm just exhausted, but it's been a while since I checked in.

Last week my goal was to exercise every day even though I was travelling. The result was...

I made a conscious decision to socialize with my co-workers instead of hitting the treadmill. I think in every blog lately I mention how stressful work is right now - it's probably becoming tiresome. I just needed a chance to commiserate. We can't really do it freely anywhere else.

I'm in the process of moving to a new office, and I'm approaching feeling settled. It's been crazy. I've been on business travel 3 of the last 4 weeks, and I've got a trip this week and each of the three following weeks. When I finally get a break, it will be 8 of 10 weeks on the road. Last week I hit a spring snow storm. Between the ice, slush, fog, and joys of closed interstates, I spent nine hours driving home when it usually takes five. I'm hoping the next few trips are calmer weather-wise.

Anyway, this week I'm focusing on getting my protein and staying hydrated. On that, I scored a much higher grade today..


Today's food:

Breakfast: 1 piece turkey sausage, 1 egg w/ lf cheese (sprinkled lightly)

Morning Snack: oatmeal fiber bar

Lunch: 1.2 oz shaved turkey breast and 1.5 oz lf cheese

Afternoon snack: peanut butter protein bar

Dinner: 3 oz. dijon crusted salmon and 3/4 c. parmesan/romano rice

Water: 80 oz

Protein: 69 g

    Being on the road can be tough. However, with that said, I too travel a bit. I don't know if it'll help, but, most hotels do have gyms. I get up early and put my workouts in. I find by doing so helps a lot; then that leaves the evening to still socialize with co-workers/friends without feeling stressed out that I missed my workout. Plus, the benefit of working out does help the endorphins to decrease your stress.

    Don't beat yourself up over it. Just start anew. You can do it! emoticon

    Sometimes socializing is much more important than exercise-especially in the de-stressing equation. You're doing great-keep going!

    Don't beat yourself up over not exercising on the trip. It's hard to stay focused on any trip, but more so if it's a business trip and you have coworkers along.

    Anyway, sounds like you are starting strong for this week. :-)
