Although my sleep was light, much lighter than I want, I did 30 minutes of my home physical therapy routine and added wrist weights as well as the quad exercises to tone my upper legs before surgery, to make them strong.
This week's groceries included strawberries. Fresh strawberries! I had one yesterday that was the size of a large plum! and they are delicious! So, you know I did not have just one.
Yesterday was a rest day. I spent it setting up the laptop, fixing a few quirky things, installing antivirus, etc. I felt pretty good, but the left shoulder - neck area after Thursday's physical therapy was a little tight and sore.
Today it is cloudy and overcast. I am tired, due to light sleep. I will sleep a little more. I ate breakfast already - peach oatmeal with sliced strawberries, milk, and a slice of raisin toast.
Last night was a little harder to fight the hunger demon. My husband reminded me I bought the frozen fruit bars, and had one of those. I knew popcorn would work, but I had already hit over my calories.
I will get some more rest. I want to get back on the wii - to practice balance, and simple yoga - breathing, etc. Lightly. I repeat lightly. Whatever. I am moving. I am doing it moment by moment. minutes at a time. I am telling myself I HAVE to lose some of this weight - so shut the mouth, put down the ...... and drink some water instead. The countdown has begun.... knee arthroscopy in 25 days. I am now 10 weeks + past the cervical spine fusion.
Onward and upward. Need to train my body again with breathing exercises, right eating, gentle movement, and pushing some of this weight off. My doc said the steroid weight gain from the medrol should start to dissipate. I certainly hope so.
Baby steps work!
