Funny How That Works...

Friday, May 20, 2011

It's funny how connected we are to our health in every aspect of our life. One of the things that I always told myself was that I got to the weight I had because I had to put so much time into work to be successful. I put in lots of long hours to be sure that I could keep up on all my tasks and projects. I am a software developer/architect, so there is always a lot of pressure to meet deadlines. So that meant MANY hours of just sitting in front of a keyboard. The more I had to do the longer I had to sit there. What's interesting though is that since I started living this new healthy lifestyle, my brain just works better. My workload hasn't lightened any, but I'm spending less time doing my tasks. I have more energy and focus. This means I accomplish my goals at work in less time and have more time to spend with my family and pursuing the things that bring me pleasure in life!

I agree with you 100%. Ever since I started working out and eating better, my whole way of being has improved. Less moody, more energy, less stressed.

It is very much connected! Keep up the good work. I find when I'm eating healthy the workload doesn't seem as overbearing and I'm focused more on the tasks to accomplish. I work at a desk all day for both my jobs, which isn't easy too say the least. But, when I'm eating unhealthy and not exercising it's even harder to stay focused.
